BELOW designs and builds private car galleries beneath country houses and city homes, across the UK and around the world. Drive in through a garden pavilion, descend on a drive-through lift, and park among the cars you love: out of sight, out of the weather, entirely your own.

Drive in through the pavilion. Descend. Drive forward down the aisle. A second, independent ramp means the collection is never more than one route from daylight. Sized to the collection, from a dozen cars to a whole fleet.

Questions

What is an underground car gallery?

A private, purpose-built space beneath your house or garden where your collection is kept and displayed: lit like a gallery, climate controlled, secure, and reached by a car lift or ramp, so nothing changes above ground.

How does a drive-through car lift work?

You drive forward onto a platform inside a discreet garden pavilion, the platform lowers the car to gallery level, and you drive forward off it. There is no turning or reversing at either end.

Do I need planning permission?

Almost always. We design the gallery with the house and garden and prepare the planning application with our architects and engineers, including the drawings, structural and drainage reports the local authority asks for.

Can it go under the garden or the driveway?

Yes. Most galleries sit under the garden or the driveway, with only a garden pavilion or a flush lift lid showing above ground. Some are built beneath the house itself.

Is there a way out if the lift is out of service?

Every BELOW gallery is designed with an independent second route, normally a drive-out ramp, so the cars are never more than one route from daylight.

How long does it take?

It depends on size, ground conditions and planning. A private consultation and feasibility study gives you a programme and budget for your site before anything is committed.

Yes. Many of our clients are private individuals and family offices. We sign an NDA on request before we speak, and never publish a property without permission.
