For family offices and private clients

We work with family offices and private clients discreetly, with an NDA on request, one named lead and a specification the client's insurer can approve. Every project starts with a private consultation, then a feasibility study and a costed proposal.

The principal decides what the gallery should feel like. The family office makes sure it is safe, insurable and well run. This page is for both.

Discretion

We offer an NDA on request, before we speak if you prefer. We never name a client or publish a home without consent.

Drawings are issued on a need-to-know basis. Contractors work under confidentiality agreements, with no site photography and no social posting. Our car gallery security guide explains how security drawings are controlled.

An insurer-ready specification

For a valuable collection, the client's specialist insurer effectively sets the security and fire brief. We bring their surveyor in at concept, so the gallery is insurable from the first sketch rather than adapted after fit-out.

Fire, water, power and security are designed to the BELOW Standard, and the evidence is kept for renewal.

A single named lead

One BELOW lead runs the project from the first call to handover, and stays the point of contact after it. The family office deals with one person, not a chain of contractors.

Reporting

We report monthly, on the same day and in the same format. The principal receives one page: progress, photographs and the next decision. The family office receives the full pack: programme, risks, insurance and decisions due.

Governance points worth knowing

Where a collection is held through a company or a trust, a few rules apply differently.

Lifting equipment used by people at work falls under inspection rules that a private household is generally outside. Where a company or trust runs the estate and employs staff, that exclusion may not hold. We treat every BELOW lift as if those rules applied, with a thorough examination every six months, whoever owns the house.

BELOW Care

After handover, BELOW Care maintains the lift, pumps, climate, fire and security systems under one contract. A monitoring desk watches for flood, climate, alarm and lift faults around the clock.

Certificates are kept current and guarantees valid. The client receives one annual compliance statement, and the building record is kept live, which helps on sale or refinance.

How a project starts

  1. A private consultation, at your home or ours, about the house, the collection and how it will be used.
  2. A feasibility study covering the site, the planning route, the ground and the lift.
  3. A costed proposal with a programme, before anything is committed.

Our underground garage cost guide explains what drives the budget.
