Nick Jeffries is the founder of BELOW. He also founded NU Projects, which has designed and built homes in super-prime London since 2010, from its base in Fulham.

NU Projects designs and builds in super-prime London, and has done since 2010. It is based in Fulham, at the same address as BELOW.
One team draws the house, prices it and builds it, under one contract. NU's own quantity surveyor prices the work, and its MEP director runs the services. The joinery is made by Cochrane Bespoke. Nick takes the first call.
Three floors down in Kensington
Nick found an old block of flats in Kensington, W8. He worked out it could hold two family houses, each going three floors below the street. Both were built under one contract.
Planning came through, then the borough paused new basements for a year while new basement rules were written. Every drawing and finish was settled in that year, before the dig began.
Concrete piles went in around the edge before any digging. Props and steel held the structure while the ground came out. The build took about two and a half years.

In 2015, Bloomberg filmed Nick at a Kensington super-basement dig, for a video titled London's Last Super-Basement.
Why BELOW
Deep basements, one team holding the whole job, and discretion are what NU has learned in London. BELOW applies them to one subject: private underground car galleries for country houses, estates and larger plots with land.

Discretion
